Experience the hustle and bustle of vibrant Soweto on this half-day journey through one of South Africa’s most historic and fascinating townships. After picking up, your guide will take you to the FNB Soccer Stadium, which hosted both the opening and final matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. From here, your guide takes you through historic sites and cultural spots that showcase Soweto’s powerful past and modern-day culture.
Drive past Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in Africa, and discover the contrasts of township life as you travel through the Motsoaledi informal settlement. Visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, where you’ll learn about the famous Soweto uprising of 16 June 1976 where the people struggle for freedom and equality. Next, make a quick stop at Regina Mundi Church, a sanctuary during the apartheid era, and Freedom Square. Continue to lively Vilakazi Street, home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
To end the experience, soak up Soweto’s modern-day culture with local cafés, street food, and vibrant community life. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s also an optional urban bungee jump at the famous Orlando Towers before returning to your accommodation in Johannesburg.

This morning, bid farewell to Johannesburg as you head to the airport for your flight to Cape Town, a coastal city framed by Table Mountain. Upon arrival, meet your WOLO Local Leader and set off on a cultural walking experience through the heart of Cape Town.
Wander through the colorful streets of Bo-Kaap, famous for brightly colored houses and cobblestone streets. Every turn reveals a fresh, vivid backdrop just waiting to be captured. Then try a traditional koeksister before exploring landmarks such as Heritage Square, Company’s Garden, St George’s Cathedral, and Greenmarket Square.
Along the way, step inside the famous Truth Coffee and uncover the fascinating stories hidden behind its historic backrooms. No cultural journey is complete without food, so let’s try local flavours with a taste of Gatsby sandwich and other street food favourites as you wander through the markets and soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere. As the afternoon unfolds, witness spectacular views from Table Mountain before ending the day at the lively V&A Waterfront.
